The Weekend Word Challenge is posted over at Odd Mix. I think this is one of my favorite challenges because he really makes you think about what photos you want to post. This week’s words were Dream and Dare.
If you’ve been reading my blog for any time now, you will know that my dream bubble was recently burst. I haven’t figured out a new one to replace it so I’m not going to be too creative on this one. The most important thing to me right now is my family. I’m focusing on my dreams and dares for my girls.
While KT dreams away in sweet slumber, I think of my dreams for her. I long to keep her safe here with me forever. Realistically, I hope that she will always be strong enough to figure out what she wants and to work towards those goals. Mostly I hope that she is happy and secure with wherever her dreams take her.
I dareto let our girls run free and find their own way. It’s not always easy when I see them making choices that I wouldn’t chose for them, but I feel that it is important to experience the consequences of their own actions. I would so much rather they learned from their mistakes while they are still young and have the parental safety net to fall back on. (I’m pleased to say that they usually make wise choices, but sometimes…)
Did you play?
Those are both beautiful photos. I espicially love the dare pic. Really great!
Those pictures are wonderful. KT is a truely beautiful young lady. And that is such a hard thing that you dare.
My pictures are up now, too.
I think you captured those words beautifully. And I love the way you express yourself.
I just gazed at my monitor in stunned silence for several minutes. Both of your photos are amazing. Your ‘dare’ photo is poignantly beautiful!

I am timid to admit that I played too…
Your daughter is beautiful, even in her sleep!
It’s hard to “let go,” huh? My son is only six and I am already dreading that day!
Thanks for visiting my WWC and MM.
Such lovely images, so well done. It felt good to look at them. You have a gift.
Gorgeous pictures, Susan. I like the composition of both.
Oh, I love your photographs and your words. Beautiful.
Oooh, I LOVE that second one. Both are great, but that second one knocked my socks right off.
Okay, so I’m wearing flip flops today, so I wasn’t wearing any socks, but you get the picture!
Thanks for checking out mine already!!
Your pictures and thoughts truly touched my heart. Fabulous job!
