The Family that Blogs Together…

I’ve got a bit of a confession to make.  I have a small case of blogging envy.  Ever since I met them, I’ve been a little jealous of the blogging siblings Jay and Kell.  Then when I realized that Betty was their mom…well, it just seemed so unfair to me.  To make matters worse,  I “met” Willi and Gawilli a blogging married couple.  I don’t know why I want a family member to blog with…I just do.  (No, I’m not pouting!)

To be fair, Shaun and Mimi started a blog this summer to document their month long trip to New Mexico.  And KT had a blog for a while.  It just didn’t stick with them.  So once again, I became the Lone Blogger.

Every once in a while my baby brother  (Mimi doesn’t understand how I can call him my baby brother when he looks so much older than me! I adore that kid!) checks in and tells me I use too many words.  He very much prefers my Daily Photo Blog.  In fact, he likes my photo blog so much that he has decided to start his own blog! Yea, I’m in a blogging family again!

So if you get a chance, go check out his blogs.  Columbia Daily Photo for a daily shot of Columbia, South Carolina.  And, to see my adorable nieces, check out Double Trouble.

Now if we could only get my mom to start blogging.  Then again, maybe that’s not such a great idea after all…

I’d blog, but I don’t have anything interesting to say.

    For example:

Today, I didn’t get stuck in the middle of the road with a giant snowplow bearing down on me. I played the new World of Warcraft expansion pack (Burning Crusade) and got 14% of the way to level 61.

    See?

  2. Susan says:

Hmm…now why can’t you keep it that concise when you are telling me these things in person? You only Wish you had adventures like snow plows chasing you down! LOL

  3. Jay says:

Maybe you and the girls or your mom or Shaun coudl “team blog”. That way they wouldn’t have to keep up a blog all the time. Just come in once a week or so and add to the conversation.

I’m sure that you can add other people on Word Press just like you can on blogger.

  4. Tink says:

I’ve given up on Hoop starting a blog. Other than him, no one from my family even KNOWS about my blog. *Shrug* I consider all my blogger buddies “family” of a sort.

  5. Betty says:

I have a feeling Kell and Jay wish I didn’t know anything about their blogs, and probably have reason to wish I hadn’t ever started one. But, it sure is fun. I would read a blog by your mom, then we could compare notes about our kids. Wouldn’t that be super????? LOL

  6. Lynne says:

    Hey Susan,
GREAT links! Enjoyed them all. I had not visited your Daily Photo Blog before. Why didn’t I? Some beautiful shots in there!!! I’ll be checking it now as well. Your nieces are gorgeous little girls. WHOA, watch out for them when they are teens. LOL

Loved how your hubby chimed in. My hubby blogs as well and complains that no one visits his site. So, next time yo visit my site, click on the “Rick” link in the header. He’ll be happy you stopped by.

I had to laugh at this. Shall I tell you something or will it make your envy worse? Well I’ll tell you. I belong to a blogging family! Thats right. My mother blogs. My sister blogs. Two of my sis in laws blog. Two of my nephews blog. One of my neices blog. My married daughter blogs. My aunt blogs. And three of my cousins blog.

Sometimes it’s fun and sometimes you just wish they’d butt out! LOL

  8. Newt says:

I’m working on getting my dad to blog. I’m going to try to show him how this coming weekend. We’ll see…………..

  9. Peggy says:

My husband started a blog years ago then dropped it. I picked it up almost a year ago and started my own. This summer my mother started blogging too. My youngest boy has also had a stab at it.

  10. Susan says:

Jay-You want me to share my blog? NO WAY! It’s mine! They need to go find their own! LOL

Tink-I’m too much of a big mouth, everyone knows about my blog. Sometimes, that makes me be a little less open with things I’d like to write about.

Betty, I’m not so sure I’d want you and my mom to get together…the tories you tell, and what I know about my mother…you two could get into some serious mischieve.

Lynnethanks! I’ll be sure to go visit Rick!

Mrs. D, you are a wonderful over achiever. I might have to come join your family!

    Newt Yea for your dad!

Peggy Your family sounds a bit like mine. Except your mom, who’s still at it. I realize it’s not for everyone. I’m just glad my baby brother is doing it. Mostly because I get to see pics of his new girls.

  11. Gracey says:

My mom and dad read my blogs and sometimes I get a comment from my dad but mom never comments on them. She will send me an email to let me know what she thought. She’s like, “I don’t know how to use the comment section.” Like it’s that hard! 🙂

  12. pastorrick says:

Baby brother says come visit me and you can take as picture as you want.

  13. Mom says:

What a whiner you are! Most of the events I get involved in I can’t talk about! You know that I work for the CIA!But I am pretty good at making up stories! And besides I probably would not keep up the blog. Mom Hey how come Ricky has his picture in the comment section. How did he do that!

  14. Jay says:

Ok, you don’t have to share THIS blog with them. You guys could start a new team blog. If you could get them to post every once in a while.

I wouldn’t share my blog with anyone either. 🙂

  15. Annie says:

    Hi Susan,

It was one of my hard-fought-and-lost plans to get my family to start blogging, just like Betty’s family and Patsy’s family (have you seen their sister blogs? Patsy’s at http://pattypenny.blogspot.com/). I tried and tried to interest mine but there were no takers, not one. They just can drum up any interest in blogging – and they don’t really have any interest in reading mine or anyone elses. Go figure 🙂

So I gave up that feeble attempt at starting a family blog and started blogging, as you know, about Little Rock. I just had to set my sights a little broader, from family to community, I guess.

I hope your wishes come true, though, for then I’d have another family to drop in and visit now and again.
