The Ultimate Blog Party!

Have you heard about the great blog party going on all week long? I’ve been seeing it around for the past few weeks and decided to put on my fancy dress and head on over at the last minute.  It’s hosted by Janice and Susan of 5 Minutes for Mom.  The whole point is to get out meet new bloggers and have some fun!  Oh…did I mention that there are over a hundred prizes to be given out to everyone that participates?

Well, where are my manners? Welcome to my blog! My name is Susan and I’m delighted that you could come.  I live in the Seattle area with my husband Shaun and our two teenagers.  (I’m not sure how that came to be, they were just toddlers a second ago…) Oh yes, and a whole herd of critters ranging from snakes and tarantulas to dogs and a jenny pig.  (yes, I know that’s not the proper name, but try telling her that)

If you root around my blog, you’ll most likely find a whole mess of silliness. (Please just igonre myhorrible grammer and punctuation, I tend to overdose on it sometimes!)  I firmly believe that the best parts of life are in the little moments, or the slices if you will…and do my best to record those.  I write more for myself and to keep in touch with family than for anything else. It’s been an added bonus to have met so many other wonderful bloggers.

Please comment and let me know something about you.

Hello, Susan! So nice to meet you. I must admit the word ‘Seattle’ instantly conjures up images of Dr. McDreamy and Crew. LOL! Have fun at the blog party! Nice to meet you,

Hi, Susan– just wanted to let you know I stopped by.

My kids are on the other end– oldest of three just turned four. We’re still beginning our journey. (Sometimes I think I’m still adjusting to this whole “mom” role. Does that go on where you’ve reached?)

    Have a great week.

  3. Shaun says:

Who the heck is Dr. McDreamy? And Crew?

Hi! A snow day–for the kickoff of your party! We’re snowbound today as well in Minnesota, after getting 20 inches of snow in 24 hours. School is closed and my 9th grader is blissfully sleeping in! Perfect day to do a little party-hopping. Hop on over to my party when you get a chance.

Seeing as how we are practically neighbors I just had to stop by! I started blogging a bit before we moved to Seattle but since moving it has been a really good way to stay in touch with family and friends back home and keep them in the know about our lives! (I am kinda terrible about writing or sending “personal” emails! LOL) Can’t wait to see what the party week brings!

Hey you! Glad to meet you — I used to live in Anchorage and traveled to Seattle ALL the time for meetings. You live in a gorgeous state…I miss the Pacific Northwest, as I live in Texas now. Hot. Humid. Sigh.

Anyway…love your blog – I’ll be back to do some rooting later!

  11. Hi! OK, something about me… I moved from Georgia to Colorado 9 months ago JUST BECAUSE 😀

  34. eph2810 says:

Very nice to ‘meet’ you, Susan. I always like to meet new bloggers (well new to me)…I would love to live in Seattle, but my Sweetheart is against it. So, we dwell in the desert 🙂

You are right, kids grow up way to fast–our son will be 22 in June. Not sure what happened to past 22 years…they just zoomed past me…

Thank you for stopping by yesterday…Sorry, I am late to accept your invitation. I am a little overwhelmed, I guess.

    Have a wonderful weekend

  35. Cyndi says:

Hi! stopping by for the party!!

  36. thepearlady says:

Hey there, Susan…making the party rounds, and stopped in for a spell. I, too, like some occasional silliness (as my own blog can attest). It appears we have other things in common as well: we hang out in the same great places, and offer terrific “slices” of what’s going on in and about our lives. It’s great to cybermeet you! 🙂

  37. Kim says:

Thanks for the party invite! I’ll be back to peruse more later!

  38. Hi Susan ! Thanks for inviting me over. I’m glad you stopped by my party. It’s nice to meet you, your children, husband, and critters. You have a tarantula :0 ? Can’t stay long. I’m afraid of spiders. Thanks for having me over !

  39. so fun to meet you! I live in the Northwest as well.

    tarantulas?!?! By choice?!?! ick!

  40. Hi Susan. Thanks for taking a minute to “party” over at my blog. I am way behind in getting to others’ blogs, so I got to read your later posts as well. That picture you snapped of the flowers in the snow is beautiful. I’ve thought about taking a photography class myself…. maybe someday, eh?

  41. Susan says:

Great blog party post!! I have four boys—three are teens and I am not sure how they get to that part of their lives. I know for sure THEY are the ones getting older…I am NOT!! 😉 I hope you get the chance to stop by and meet them, they are at my party.

🙂 Susan (from the opposite end of the country)

  42. Please tell me the tarantulas and snakes are put away — you don’t want me passing out at your party if I should happen to bump into one of them. ; )

Good to “meet” you, Susan! I’m here from Memphis, TN!

    Have a great party!

  43. amydeanne says:

Hi Susan. Nice to meet ya. I like your blog name and decided to come by and say hi. Boy this has really turned into a HUGE party~I was number 639 (or something). Anyhow, come by and say hi.

  47. Melissa says:

I love your blog! You have a wonderful sense of humor… and I hope that I remember to humiliate… I mean… have fun with my kids when they are teenagers! 🙂 I have about 5 years to plot and plan… 😀

  48. Barbara H. says:

Hello! I’m slowly making the party rounds. It’s nice to meet you! Kids do grow up sooo fast! Mine are 22, 19, and 13.

  49. Shalee says:

What?! You got all fancied up for it? Sheesh. Now I’m going to look bad…

Something about myself, huh? Well, I’m a wife of one fantastic Mr. Right, a mother of two “why did God bless me so much” kids, a hard-working employee and a struggling daughter of the King. Oh, and I make a mean apple pie. You should come on over and grab a slice.

Nice to meet you officially. And I lived in Bremerton eons ago and I still think it’s one of the prettiest places to see.

  50. Nise' says:

I was chuckling over your teenager post! I always told my kids I wasn’t doing my job correctly if they were never embarrassed by their mother. The good news is they come back! My 22 & 19 year olds can be seen in our presence and in fact, even like to hang out with us once again. Our youngest (15), well we have a couple of years yet! Love your area of the country, I have family in Siverdale, Poulsbo, Yakima and Spokane.
