Remaining Constant

As the year was coming to a close, we all counted down as we watched the Glass Ball prepare to drop.  5…4…3…2…1…Happy New Year! At the very stroke of midnight, My Beloved and I kissed to welcome in the new year, just as we have been doing for more than twenty years.  We both saw fireworks.  Literally.  The neighborhood was going nuts with them and all we had to do was look out our window.

An entire year has, once again, flown by.  Heck, an entire decade has flown by.  (I’m not sure I should admit this but I didn’t see that one coming.  How does one not realize it’s a new decade? I guess I’ve just been busy!)  New year…new decade…new blog.  Well…it’s the same old blog, just a new location.

As much as I dislike change, I’m very, very excited about this new endeavor.  Just imagine me wedged in the prow of a ship (Not one that is going to sink like the Titanic) joyfully bellowing out “I AM QUEEN OF MY OWN DOMAIN!!!”

I’m glad you’ve found your way over here.  It’s not really that much different.  I had grand plans to design my own website from scratch.  (You may stop laughing now) but that is a lot harder than I ever imagined.  Instead, I’ve been playing with templates. (also a lot harder than I ever imagined!) I’m mostly happy with this one.  I’m still looking for things (like my blog roll) and tweaking a bit here and there.  I’ve got some interesting new ideas which may or may not come to fruition.

So…welcome! Please feel free to poke around…sign up for my new feed either by Rss or email…follow me on Friend Connect and/or Networked blogs (I really don’t know the point of these but it seems to be the newest thing and it makes my heart happy!)…let me know if something needs attention…remember to change your link to me on your blog…tell me I don’t sound too pathetic…

Just like the sweet kisses that Shaun and I always share to welcome in the new year, this blog, with it’s new name and new location (and more posting!) will remain constant. I hope you stick around to enjoy the little slices of my life.

Happy New Blog domain Susan! Where did the decade go? I swear I don’t know. The older I get, the more the years tend to fly by faster and faster. Looking forward to reading more in the coming year!

    Del~That’s what I was thinking.

Jenn~He really is a nice guy. And it had nothing whatsoever to do with my off and on whining. Not that I would ever do such a thing.

Lynne~Remember when everyone was all worried about Y2K? Wasn’t that like 6 months ago or something? Geez…

The decade change did sneak up on me too. I guess it’s just not as notable as saying we’re leaving the 60’s and going into the 70’s, etc when the numbers change from ’09 to ’10. Plus the previous changeover to a new millennium was a tough act to follow. Happy New Year to you.. and may your new domain bring you much joy. 🙂

Hilary~I think it’s notable that everyone is worried about what to call this decade. All the debate cracks me up.

Amanda~thanks! It’s one of my goals to dust off the Beast and start taking photos again. I’ve gotten really lame in that aspect.

    Pamela and Cazzie~thanks!

Kathy~I had to look that up. Apparently it’s commonly written on a lot of clocks…I’ve never noticed it and will be carefully looking at all clocks from now on!

Brandt!~thanks…I’m still majorly impressed that I did it!

Choochoo~those flowers may end up shriveled…they are bugging me already!
