I was grumbling to myself wondering what on earth I was going to post about tonight. It’s only day four of Nablopomo and I had convinced myself that my brain was exhausted. One wouldn’t think something so simple as writing a quick post every day would be so hard. Yet…sometimes…it just is.
So I decided I would take the easy way out and just post a picture. Preferably not one of the puppy. (We think she’s quite adorable, but realize that not everyone will feel that way!)
Instead of the puppy, I found this picture. I have no idea where it came from. The date on it is just last month…on the 10th. It’s of my grandpa and I.
I love how I am nestled safely in my grandpa’s arms. He’s wearing one of his soft cotton work shirts that I remember so well. (I even have some buttons saved from those shirts) I miss him and treasure the close relationship we had.
This simple, unexpected picture opens up so many memories. I’m glad it appeared from, well…wherever it came from!
I LOVE that photo! Grandpa (or Grandma) for me is always a safe pair of arms where there is unconditional love, comfort and protection. 🙂
That’s EXACTLY how I feel!
I love that picture. So sweet. Grandpas are wonderful.
Thanks Karen! I completely agree about wonderful grandpas.
Sweet time photo. I can know the feeling, but I cannot feel the sweet feelling with my grandfather because he left me before I born.
That really is a wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing.
I remember taking that picture, & and as to where it came from: the box in your “craft” room that holds all or most all of MY pictures. I remember being agast when after developing, I noticed that torn out seam in your pants! That was how your Grandpa was, he loved to hug his family and cuddle up with them. I am so glad you came across this picture. Do you know, that your grandparents wedding aniversary just passed (Nov 2, 1940). How I miss them!
No Mom, it was in a file on my computer!
Grandpa was always very open with his affections. And I do miss them like crazy.
(Oh, and I was hoping that nobody would notice that my mother dressed me funny!)
