In a nutshell
A Slice of my Life is my take on two teenagers, one husband and a whole slew of critters. Life around here is never boring!
Shaun (also referred to as my Beloved): Computer Nerd, WoW Geek and all around Nice Guy. (although sometimes I have to wonder if he's really just a 12 year old boy trapped in a 40 something year old man's body)
Kt-The Teenager: Our oldest daughter, college student, vegan, volunteer, high achiever with a goofy side.
Mimi-The Feisty Redhead: Still our baby girl, high school junior, Drama Queen, artistic and culinary inclined.
And then there’s me, Susan The one who adores them all! I hope you enjoy all the antics that go on in our little slice of the web.

The Most Amazing Hair Dryer in the World
I was mindlessly drying my hair, when to my utter amazement, my hair dryer exploded in my hand. Well, technically, it didn’t explode…it merely started crackling and shooting eight inch flames from the back of it. My immediate reaction was … Continue reading

Keeping It In Perspective
Yesterday I stopped to get gas and was shivering beside my car (with Mimi’s words echoing in my head about why on earth we don’t just move to Oregon where the common folk aren’t allowed to pump their own gas) … Continue reading

The Family Project
It’s a little known fact, but the week between Christmas and New Year’s is National College Application week. I know, I’d never heard of it either, but then again this is the first time I’ve ever had a high school … Continue reading

But Still…
While we were watching our youngest play in the mud yesterday, our oldest had gone for her first hike ever. You’d think that she would chose a gentle one or two mile hike, but no, she went on an eight … Continue reading
A Lazy Sunday
Today was the last Sunday before school is started. It was our last little taste of the freedom that summer vacation brings. Most people would jump at the chance to play with abandon outside in the glorious sunshine while it … Continue reading

Lessons in Ice Storms
Seattle is experiencing what is being called an “Arctic Blast”. We’ve had snow and freezing temperatures for the last few days. Granted, temperatures in the teens and low twenties might seem wimpy to many of you (and I’ve never denied … Continue reading

Breakfast with Shaun
Shaun woke me up bright and early this weekend and asked me if I was ready to go. (Hello? Sound asleep and no coffee?) I realized that I was dreaming and rolled over to go back to sleep. Yet the … Continue reading
If it weren't for Larry…
It’s really isn’t a big secret that I’ve been a teensy eensy tiny bit jealous of Shaun’s Big Orange Jeep. It’s not that I’ve really wanted a big off-roading vehicle or anything like that. It’s just been…well…hard to see Shaun … Continue reading

Nearly a year later…
No, I’m not really talking about the last time I posted, but that works too… About a zillion years ago, I came across a blog called The Northwest Ladybug. Something about this blog, just sucked me right in so I … Continue reading
