In a nutshell
A Slice of my Life is my take on two teenagers, one husband and a whole slew of critters. Life around here is never boring!
Shaun (also referred to as my Beloved): Computer Nerd, WoW Geek and all around Nice Guy. (although sometimes I have to wonder if he's really just a 12 year old boy trapped in a 40 something year old man's body)
Kt-The Teenager: Our oldest daughter, college student, vegan, volunteer, high achiever with a goofy side.
Mimi-The Feisty Redhead: Still our baby girl, high school junior, Drama Queen, artistic and culinary inclined.
And then there’s me, Susan The one who adores them all! I hope you enjoy all the antics that go on in our little slice of the web.

That Nine Random Minute Thing
Well, you may have noticed that I fell off the NaMoBloMo thang… I have to admit that I’m rather disappointed in myself, this would’ve been my third (or is is fourth?) time completing it. The horrible truth is that I … Continue reading

Feeling Proud
I can remember being in class about 5000 years ago when a couple members of the newspaper staff walked in. They asked us if we would take a moment to write down our thoughts about the newly proposed holiday to … Continue reading

Nine Minutes of Random
That means I have absolutely nothing I want to write about this particular minute so I’ve set my phone for nine minutes and have just started typing. This should be interesting to see what I end up with. Mimi has … Continue reading

It’s Possible I’m Getting Old(er)
It wasn’t so very long ago (well…OK…I guess it’s been about twenty years, I guess that is a while) that I wouldn’t even have considered getting ready to go out before nine or ten. After all, nothing ever happened in … Continue reading

Uncalculated Chaos
When Mimi started classes last week, she told me that she was really going to need a new scientific calculator. Not only had she been using her sister’s aging hand-me-down one, her teachers were encouraging the students to get the … Continue reading

Mimi’s New Adventure
Shortly after school let out in June, Mimi started asking if she could switch to one of the other high schools in our area. Having known our Drama Queen for several years, I merely raised my eyebrows at her and … Continue reading
